This afternoon my dear cousin Magistra Lucretia Marcella and I discuss Roman clothing, how it evolved, what it means, who wears what, and how to get started making some cool summer garb for yourself.

Magistra Marcella is a true delight and a long term inspiration. Her skill as an ornatrix is renowned throughout the Knowne World. You’ll enjoy our lively discussion of all the wonderful reasons to be as in love with classical Rome as she is. We give a good overview of Roman clothing while also briefly dipping in to a hand cart full of adjacent topics, maybe giving you some inspiration about where to take your new Roman persona? Catullus and other famous Roman poets. The love of luxury, conspicuous consumption, and the allure of the exotic, all as tempting now as they were in the past. The ways they saw the world exactly the same, the ways it was completely different. Natural dyes, maybe even natural bleach? If you’re brave! You’ll have to listen to find out why…
